Cat urine can be very difficult to clean.  There are my products and store bought and homemade but it can be hard to filter through everything to know what works.  I've come across the perfect product called Simple Solution that is actually a live organism that eats all the cat urine smell.

Many don't know how to remove cat urine smell but using Simple Solution it's ridiculously easy.  Simply soak all the cat urine with a rag or use a suction cleaner like a Bissel Little Green  or any product similar.  After all or as much of the urine is soaked up spray the Simple Solution on the stain.  If the stain is on the carpet then make sure you soak the carpet good.  You want to make sure you soak all the way to the under pad of the carpet so Simple Solution can go to work eating up all the cat piss smell.  If on a baseboard or hardwood floor spray some on a rag and wipe it onto the surface but don't soak it otherwise you risk damaging your wood.  If on tile just spray it and leave it.  You'll notice a substantial difference in the smell after 10 hours but after a full 24 hours the smell will be gone completely.

People ask me how to clean cat urine and I just give them this product and that's it.  A couple days later they are thanking me for the recommendation.  So I encourage you to do the same and try it out.  Give it a try and also try using a black light when doing it, you'll find stains you never knew existed.  For using a black light, I recommend shutting off all the lights in the house so you have complete darkness.  Wait until night time and then go around all the baseboards with the black light and look for round patches.  These patches will be stains.  You can tell the difference between a cat urine stain and a cat spray stain based on the shape on the stain.   Circular stain will be cat urine where long streak light stains will be cat spray.  It’s important too when cleaning up spray stains to wipe the walls around that area too.  Sprays often splatter and there will be speckles all around that need cleaning.

Once you’ve learned how to remove cat urine smell, now you need to know how to prevent it in the first place.  Often cats my just feel comfortable going to the bathroom in the certain spot just before of the surroundings, the cover, privacy it could be anything.  What you want to do it make that spot they used uncomfortable to use and they will no longer urinate there.  So for that I use cat spiky mats.  They have long plastic spikes that cats don’t like to step on and it will deter your cat from peeing in the wrong spot.

Make sure you keep the litter box clean and keep, and if your cat keeps looking for different places to pee then you need to move the litter box, change the box to a different shape or get one with or without a cover on top.
